Neurology

Spinal and brain disorders of dogs and cats are a common presentation to our veterinary specialist clinic. Common disorders we treat include GME, disc rupture, brain tumours and Wobblers syndrome. Our specialist medical team have many years experience in treating this disorders in dogs and cats. 
Advanced Vetcare provides services for the diagnosis and treatment of canine and feline neurological diseases. These services include CT scanning, CT-myelography, electrodiagnostic testing (EMG and nerve conduction studies) and frequent access to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment. Our neurological diagnostics are backed up by the latest medical and neurosurgical techniques.

Advanced Vetcare's veterinary medical specialist Dr Steven Holloway has particular experience with neurological cases having lectured in clinical neurology at the University of Melbourne Veterinary School for 7 years. Our neurosurgical team includes our specialist surgeon Dr Sam Snelling who has performed countless spinal surgeries for spinal cord compression syndromes.

Below is our EMG machine. Our veterinary specialist hospital is the only private specialist practice that can provide EMG readings on site.
